Event Appendix: MouseHunt's 3rd Birthday Celebration

  • On March 4, 2011, the 3rd Birthday Celebration was announced, and the Birthday Party location was opened.
  • Three new mice are released for the event. To catch them you need to collect Cupcake Colby Potions.
  • These are dropped by Cowardly Mice. You can also collect them from Curious Chemist mice, but that would require Super Brie.
  • They can also be received as free gifts from friends. Head over to Friends → Send Free Gifts to send some! It won't cost you anything. There are also some collectible items available that will cost gold to send.
  • They are used to make Cupcake Colby cheese, which can attract these mice:
    • The Buckethead mouse drops Birthday Explosives.
    • The Pintail mouse drops the Fuse.
    • The Sleepwalker mouse drops Red Wax.
  • If you can collect all three items, you can head over to the trapsmith to purchase the Birthday Candle Kaboom trap!
    • Price: 289,000; Points Needed: 91,000
    • Power: 2,400
    • Power bonus: 30%
    • Attraction bonus: 20%
    • Luck: 14
    • Cheese effect: Very Stale
    • Verdict: Recommended for low-level players: If you haven't gotten the NVMRC Forcefield Trap yet, this gives more power, attraction, and luck, with only slightly more the cost.
  • The trapsmith also sells the Cheesecake Base. To purchase this you need 90 Curds and Whey and 60 Brie Cheese, both easily purchased from the General Store and the Cheese Shoppe respectively. Here are the stats:
    • Price: 80,000 (93,080 when cost of items are included); Points Needed: 180,000
    • Power: 175
    • Power bonus: 3%
    • Attraction bonus: 20%
    • Luck: none
    • Cheese effect: No Effect
    • Verdict: Recommended if affordable: This is basically a stronger Wooden Base with Target. Keep it for the times when you may need a decent attraction bonus.
  • The Terrible Twos mice from last year make a comeback, and they're after your Cupcake Colby! They can only be caught by the Parental power type. The only weapon with that power type is the Nannybot that was available last year.
  • So what if you don't have that weapon? Fear not; you can collect Nanny Charms from Cowardly Mice (and Magic Mice if you use Super Brie). Nanny Charms can also be sent and received as free gifts from friends.
  • Nanny Charms, when equipped will change your trap power type to Parental, allowing you to catch Terrible Twos mice! Make sure that you have your Cupcake Colby armed, or you'll waste your charms.
  • Terrible Twos mice may drop the Chocolate Birthday Cake Base. It's not a very powerful base, but hey, it's pretty and it's free!
  • The Birthday mice also make a comeback. Catch them for 2011 Birthday Gifts, which can be opened in Inventory → Special for some cool goodies!
