Appendix S3: Revenge of the NannyBot

  • On March 2, 2010, Terrible Twos mice are found in the Meadow. However, they are of a unique, "Parental" power type, and thus require a special trap to catch.
  • The trap is the NannyBot. It requires three parts from event mice found in the Town of Gnawnia:
    • Nanny Bolts from Birthday mice
    • Timeout Hour Glass from Present mice
    • Intimidating Pincher from Rockstar mice
  • If you have any Rockforth cheese left over, you may use it to attract the Rockstar mice; if you don't, regular cheese will do.
  • The trap cannot be crafted using the regular crafting interface, but is instead assembled from a special page. This allows hunters of any rank to assemble it.
  • Once you've assembled it, arm the NannyBot, head over to the Meadow and cross your fingers!
  • You can use regular cheese in the Meadow, or attempt to use White Cheddar cheese, which is crafted by 1 Curds and Whey + 1 Salt.
  • White Cheddar eliminates the attraction of the low-paying and annoyingly common White, Grey, and Brown mice, hopefully increasing the number of Terrible Twos mice you encounter. The downside is that it has a very low attraction rate. If you decide to use White Cheddar, use the Wooden Base with Target; however even with that, expect to fail to attract more than half the time.
  • On March 5, the Terrible Twos mice started dropping the Chocolate Birthday Cake Base in the Meadow. They have also started spreading to other locations like the Training Grounds, but there are no confirmed loot drops there.
  • On March 7, the Birthday, Present, and Rockstar mice have been spotted dropping Stolen Birthday Gifts in the Town of Gnawnia. Opening them can yield useful items.
  • The Birthday mice have also been spotted dropping the Plush Terrible Twos Mouse.
  • On March 9, the Dojo Sensei mouse is released, which is to be a permanent addition to the game.
  • Catching a Dojo Sensei during the event may yield the Time Out Upgrade, one of three components needed to upgrade the NannyBot.
  • Read this section to find out how to catch the Dojo Sensei.
  • On March 16, the Curious Chemist and Silth mice are released, also permanent additions to the game.
  • To catch a Curious Chemist, use Gnarled cheese in the Great Gnarled Tree. It is a Physical mouse, so most traps should do fine against it.
  • The Curious Chemist drops the Wicked Gnarly Potion, which is used to create Wicked Gnarly cheese.
  • To catch the Silth mouse, use the Wicked Gnarly cheese in the Lagoon. The Silth is a very strong Hydro mouse, so strong Hydro traps like the Ancient Spear Gun or Kraken Chaos are recommended.
  • Catching the Silth during the event may net you the Chrome Nanite Coating, the second of three components needed to upgrade the Nannybot.
  • On March 24, eleven new underground-themed mice were released, also permanent additions to the game.
  • They can be found in the Town of Digby, and all require Limelight cheese to be attracted. The recipe for Limelight cheese is (makes 3 pieces)
    • 3 Living Shards (available at the newly-opened Digby general store)
    • 3 Radioactive Sludge
    • 30 Curds & Whey
  • The mice are all of the Physical type, and have no special resistances, so strong traps like the Chrome Drillbot, Rhinobot, or ACRONYM are recommended.
  • The strongest of the mice is the Big Bad Burroughs mouse. Catching it during the event may net you the Superstar Nanny Glases, the third component needed to upgrade the NannyBot.
  • If you have trouble getting the Time Out Upgrade, the Chrome Nanite Coating, or the Superstar Nanny Glasses, they will be available for purchase in the Harbour general store for a limited time in the future.
  • If you have all three, you can smash the Nannybot, and craft the Chrome Nannybot:
    • 1 Nannybot Parts + 1 Time Out Upgrade + 1 Chrome Nanite Coating + 1 Superstar Nanny Glasses = Chrome Nannybot
  • Note that you need to be at least a Grandmaster to safely craft it.
  • The Chrome Nannybot is a Shadow trap, better than the portals, but worse than the Bottomless Grave.
  • For all the trouble it takes to get it, it doesn't seem to be very useful; if you're Grandmaster, you probably don't need it any more. Well, it's a shiny thing to add to your collection...
  • Keep in mind that if you craft the Chrome Nannybot, you won't be able to catch any more Terrible Twos mice unless you collect the Nannybot parts again.
